CARROT- THE HEALTH BENEFITS

    Carrot is popular root vegetable consumed worldwide. It is generally occur in colour of orange. It is also found in several other colours like red, yellow, purple etc. Carrot is scientifically proved to be a essential food containing a number of nutrients which are beneficial for various parts of health like digestive system, eye, teeth etc.
Carrot benefits
      Carrot consists of orange swollen root of the plant know as Daucus carota which belongs to the family of Apiaceae.
    Carrot is a great source of vitamin A, vitamin C and calcium. It is also a rich source of beta-carotene which is the reason of the bright orange color. It also contains vitamin K and vitamin E. Some minerals like magnesium, potassium, phosphorus has also found in carrot.  
  • Beta-carotene is known as an excellent antioxidants which help to reduce the free radical substances to protect the skin against pre-mature aging.
  • Carrot contains several alkaline compound which help to maintain the purity and rejuvenate of the blood and keep the acid-blood ratio under normal in blood.
  • Potassium content in carrot help to reduce the hypertension specially which is associated by sodium and minimize the high blood pressure.  
  • Carrot consists of soluble fiber in high quantity. They binds with low density lipoprotein to decrease the bad cholesterol and increase the level of high density lipoprotein or good cholesterol which are useful to keep away the several heart disease.
  • Many ophthalmologists suggest the carrot to take in high content because it has high capability to promote the clear vision. Normal capability of vision is reported to be decreased in many cases  due to deficiency of vitamin A. Beta -carotene help to produce vitamin A which improve the vision.
  • A phyto-nutrient falcarinol in carrot help to minimize the risk of colon cancer.
