      Recent study has declared that Indian gooseberry is fully consisted of nutrients. So it can help you to give a healthy-life.
      Indian Gooseberry (Amla) is a fruit which is rich in Vitamin-C and contains 600-750mg/100g of the fresh fruit pulp. Even the fruits can be also dehydrated and stored. It is found that vitamin content of dried fruit is not lost considerably. The fruits also contain tannin, appreciable amount of pectin. Apart from that, Amla is also rich in mineral matters like iron, calcium, phosphorus.        
       Amla fruits are largely used in Indian Medicine. It is an acrid, diuretic, refrigerant and laxative. Dried fruits are given in diarrhoea and dysentery. Seeds of fruits are given in the treatment of asthma as well as bronchitis. The fruit has also anti-viral property. It helps to reduce cholesterol level and keeps the heart fit. The juice of this fruit is used to cure acidity and resolve upset stomach due to having inflammatory property.
     Amla is famous for its anti-ageing property because it is a rich source of vitamin-c. Ageing is a result of damage to various cells and tissues, usually by oxygen free radicals. Vitamin-C is a scavenger of free radicals which breaks them down. It is believed to prolong ageing process and to keep young. The another Vitamin-E is present in high concentration in amla. So that's why it also have anti-oxidant property and helps to reduce skin damage.   
     It is reported that the oil of the fruit possesses the property of promoting hair growth. So it's oil can be used as herbal hair oil. It is also used in the preparation of black dye.
     So, every human being should have to put one amla in daily food chart to keep healthy body as well as healthy skin.
