SPINACH-THE GREEN WITH BENEFITS

     Most probably the spinach is more beneficial than other greens in the whole world. It provide such health beneficial nutrients which are almost absent in another greens or vegetables.
     Spinach consists of the entire evergreen plant of Spinacia oleracea which belongs to the family of Amaranthaceae.
Spinach benefits
  • Spinach is an great source of several vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin B complex content i.e. vitamin B2,B6. It also contains the minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, manganese etc. in sufficient quantities. Apart from those active constituents, it also contains selenium,protein, niacin, dietery fiber and omega-3-fatty acid compounds.  
  • Spinach is a rich source of beta-carotene which is an antioxidant, useful in the treatment of many kind of disease. Beta-carotene is developed into vitamin A after digestion. Vitamin A can minimize the cataract development. It also keep away several heart diseases. 
  • The green leaf of spinach also consists of phytochemicals, lutein. They helps to reduce the muscle degeneration in case of aged people. Another active constituent also present in spinach is lipoic acid which help in regeneration of vitamin E and vitamin C which are well known anti-oxidant. Lipoic acid also help to boost up the energy level and keep the normal blood sugar level. 
  • The consumption of spinach as cooked is more beneficial than raw because the cooked stuff concentrates the soluble fiber content and essential nutrients for health. Spinach is found to have the high quantity of potassium which help to keep away several kind of heart disease.
