THE BENEFITS OF GREEN PEA

     Green pea is well known vegetable for its delightful taste. The healthy recipes of green pea is associated with several health benefits. Although its size is small but it is fully packed with essential nutrients.
Green pea benefits
    Green pea consists of small spherical seeds in the green pot fruit of the plant known as Pisum sativum which belongs to the family of Fabaceae. It is a most nutritious vegetable which is rich in phytonutrients, anti-oxidants, several vitamins. 
  • The pea is useful in weight-loss management. Because it provides less than 100 calorie probably 80 calorie. Again it does not increase the blood cholesterol level.
  • Green peas are rich in folic acid which is vitamin B-complex help in DNA synthesis in several cell. It is also helpful for the going-to-be mother to protect fallopian tube from several infection.
  • Those seeds also contain rich amount of vitamin C which help to resist the body from various infection, some inflammatory diseases, free radical compound.
  • Peas are reported for having phytosterol i.e. beta-sitosterol which most commonly decreases the cholesterol level in blood serum to prevent several cardiovascular diseases.
  • Green peas are great source of vitamin K which help to promote bone health and give the strength in bone mass. It also helpful element to prevent the alzheimer disease.
  • It also contains vitamin A which is an anti-oxidant to help the improvement of eye-power and promote the healthy mucous membrane. The anti-oxidant flavonoids named carotene, lutein, xanthin are present in fresh peas to reduce the risk of lung cancer.
